“To My Keeper”

All I feel is weightless.
Lost in all translation.
Stuck in golden shackles
of endless abdications.

So let me fall from glory.
And into you solace.
Let me yearn for refuge.
Let me yearn for grace.

For I am but a captive
of one too many crimes.
I seek of vindication.
Make me your divine.

Chase away my heartaches.
Shelter me from harm.
Let my spirit slumber
in peace and gentle warmth.

Of Stardusts and Moonlust

Sail me across rivers
of moonlit oceans
along the cracks of
my shattered soul
Let the sound of your
sinful, silent laughters
leave me haunted-
lead my spirit home
Bask me in all glory
of your golden-ruffled glow
and lay waste me a myth
of divine inferno
Waltz with me
throughout dawnless nights
and come paint me
our own concierto

Tell me, what is it you truly desire?

Hagibis (Fleeting-)

Hindi naman kailangan na matalinghaga
Di naman inaasahang puro lang hiwaga
Ngunit tila ba nilalaro lang ni Bathala
Pinagtagpo ngunit di itinadhana

it doesn’t have to be all poetic
not all too magical, not all too mystic
but as if by God we’ve been divinely played
destined to meet but not fated to stay

Bakit kung kailan hindi ko na akala
Kailang pag-ibig man ay tila ba banyaga
Dinig mo ba’ng bulong ng mga makatang
Pinagtagpo ngunit di itinadhana

and just when I thought to me it’s never dawning
when love seemed nothing but a foreign thing
do you hear the silent rhymes these poets say
destined to meet but not fated to stay

Paalam nalang…

fare well-

author’s note
…in case you’re wondering, the original piece (left-aligned text) is written in Tagalog.

-Ringdale Note-

I love you. I just couldn’t let you know…

I’d write you a letter
I’d sing you a song
Maybe pick you some flowers
or make you a poem

I’d make Spring blossom
through your deserts of ice
and make hues of autumn
linger in your eyes…

If only I could show you
even I don’t understand
why I couldn’t seem to muster
even shaking your hand

❝ Hi, I’m…

Ode To An Adieu

Help me help you
Let me let you go
I never wanna lose you
But you will never know

I will fix myself
so break my heart for me
Keep it in a shelf
along with our memories

And once you face away
Please never turn back
For I would really hate it
If you see my spirit crack

But please don’t worry much for me
For I will get by
I’ll face this bitter misery
As I wave you sweet goodbye

Fare well.

Flower Rings and Red Strings

Flashback on a midsummer day
Underneath a big old tree
Some silly promise was made
In a blissful memory

Fade in on a little girl
Pretty in her summer dress
Floral crowns adorn her curls
Ah, what a lovely mess

And with her a little boy
Atop a grassy hill
Anxiously mumbling envois;
A nervous Jack and her blissful Jill

Their smiles and their happy fantasies
Played a lovely duet
In a simply enchanting melody
One they will never forget

With flower rings they vowed forever
Knotting red strings in tiny hearts
“I promise you my ever after
until death do us part”

Fade up on the skies 2 decades ahead
His sweet warmth now slumbered
The music starts playing in her head
And with tears she stood in somber

“You promised me an ever after
and now death has done its part
But I’ll keep this flower ring forever
and our memories deep in my heart”

“I will remember you.”
